Held for the eighth time, this year’s festival showcases more than 20,000 photography works by some 1,200 photographers from 46 countries and regions, including those from China.
Exhibitions to the festival have been divided into five major categories and are displayed in nine areas. Among 150 various themed exhibitions, 38 are from overseas. The photography awards this time have been increased to include 14 prizes.
With “Life & Dreams” as the main theme of the 2009 festival, it also includes an exhibition entitled “Footsteps of the People’s Republic of China”, which is a tribute to the 60th anniversary of new China.
